Job summary
Crown Street Surgery is looking
for an enthusiastic and fun to work with salaried doctor.
We are a 4-partner practice with 9000 patients in the
heart of Acton.
We are looking for 3 sessions upwards to cover Thursdays
& Fridays
Rate starting from 11k per clinical session which includes one paid non clinical session for practice development (pro rata) in the job plan!
Yes, you read correctly, we will pay for an admin session for you to develop something that benefits you and the practice!!
The clinical team is evolving: currently
we have clinical coders, clinical pharmacists, paramedics, a trainee ANP,
nurses, TNA and HCAs.
Main duties of the job
What does a typical day look like?
I cycle to work (we have a car park too) and freshen up in our on-site shower ready to start at 830am (this is flexible) to consult with patients.
The clinical team get together around 1030am and catch up over a cup of tea mostly chatting about the dreadful TV shows we have been binging on. I complete the rest of my morning clinic and then meet the team again at 1230pm to go through clinical cases/challenging cases/questions about patients' great way to learn and get advice!
1pm lunch with the team, banter and food; we know the local falafel guy better than we should. (There's even a kitchenette if you want to cook something).
After getting berated at lunch for my awful jokes I get through some admin, low, due to our clinical coders and clinical pharmacists who manage most of it. No visits as the paramedics get them sorted too.
230pm I do my afternoon clinic and am ready to head home by 530pm (if havent got into a comical debate about a practice cat with some of the team).
Number of patients in the day 30. If Im duty in the morning then the max is 25 patients or if I am duty in the afternoon then a max of 15 in the afternoon. I do extended hours in rotation with the other GPs as well (usually once in 4-6 weeks).
About us
What do you get for your hard work? (Claps are a thing of the past!)
Competitive package as above (11k per session) in addition to indemnity cover.
6 weeks annual leave, 1 week study leave (BMA standard contract).
Opportunities for personal and professional development. We will meet with you to map out a development plan and how we can support you with it. Education and career progression are ingrained in our ethos. We are also GP retainer accredited.
Social events - not just the mid-morning tea break! eg. Regular meals out with the GP trainees.
We try to be as flexible as we can to your life outside of CSS - whether you are prioritising family life or your love for globe-trotting - we will try to support this.
Supportive team, from the partners, to admin, to the nursing team, with an open-door policy.
Lots of cake! - a chance to enjoy the cake baking rota recently set up.
So, in summary, what can you expect working with us?
Supportive environment, admin/visit light, no more than 30 consultations in a normal day, banter at lunch and plenty of tea and coffee, educational support, career progression. Oh, and FREE PARKING and great transport links!
If you are keen to join why not chat to some salaried docs that work here already rather than the partners to get a true understanding of what we are about.
