Job summary

We are seeking interest from GPs who would like to be part of our multidisciplinary team based at Saltdean & Rottingdean Medical Practice the practice is situated in Saltdean on the outskirts of Brighton caring for a population of 12,600 patients. This would be on a fixed term contract to cover 3 months, for 6 sessions per week; working across Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. We are looking for this to start in December 2024

Main duties of the job

Day to day duties include:-

Clinical rota's that include pre booked and on the day appointments.

The Clinical Admin duties including letters and tasks are allocated to be achievable within your daily sessions .

We would ideally like the role to include Duty clinician cover during 1 day a week.

We encourage involvement in the surgeries ongoing developments; so attendance at regular Clinical Meetings is recommended.

About us

We currently have 5 partners, this fixed term GP role is supported by a wider clinical team made up of 5 other salaried GPs, 1 Advance Nurse Practitioner, 1 Paramedic, 1 Pharmacist, 3 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs and a Phlebotomist, as well as access to a large PCN Team .

The following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be on occasion a requirement to carry out other tasks: this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.

  • The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
  • The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
  • Generic Prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
  • Effective management of Long Term Conditions
  • Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescriptions requests and other associated admin tasks
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
  • Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
  • Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
  • Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
  • Attend and contribute effectively to Practice Meetings as required
  • Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
  • Prepare and complete the revalidation process
  • Commit to self-learning and instill an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
  • Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure

  • Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous imporvement at all times

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Medical Degree from a recognized institution
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Membership in the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) preferred

Desirable

  • Knowledge of TPP System One
  • Knowledge of AccuRx
