Job summary

We have a great opportunity for a full time or part-time Receptionist/Administrator to join our team based at our surgery in Saltdean.

As part of the duties to support our clinical team we are looking to employ a Receptionist who is enthusiastic and can show a caring nature and be committed to this responsible position for patient services.

We are a busy Practice with approximately 12500 patients. Our nursing team comprises of Practice Nurses/HCA/Phlebotomist and Paramedic . The clinical team is supported by a team of Receptionists and Administrators.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will need to carry out the following duties and you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proven team working abilities. You will also need to be able to manage your time effectively.

  • Appointment booking

  • Responsibility for opening and closing the premises securely

Our practice has an exciting opportunity for a full or part time receptionist to join our primary care team. Job responsibilities

The post-holder will work as part of a team providing face to face and telephone support to patients and clinical staff.

The post-holder will work with reference to practice agreed policies and guidelines.

The post-holder will require a level of training and competence (to be provided via training)

The post-holder will be expected to increase their skills through training to suit the needs of the Practice and have competencies assessed regularly.

Duties and responsibilities:

Opening/Closing premises

  • Switching alarm system
  • Preparing the clinics
  • Checking Health & Safety procedures
  • Following the procedures for the telephone system
  • Preparing closures of building
  • Checking IT systems

Preparing Mail

  • Opening mail and distributing accordingly to practice policy
  • Processing electronic mail

Appointments

  • Booking appointments for patients face to face and via telephone
  • Arranging/organising clinics
  • Manging appointments via practice policy

Signposting Services

  • Self-awareness of signposting patients to the appropriate services

Enquiries

  • Ensuring accurate messages are taken for the appropriate clinician
  • Processing general enquiries

Telephone

  • Greeting patients in an appropriate manner
  • Dealing with telephone appointments
  • Dealing with enquires
  • Following practice policy when processing telephone calls

Interpreters
