What is the purpose of the position?

We are seeking a committed GP with Specialist interest in Dermatology to participate in our outpatient clinics, and will undertake dermatological diagnostic and surgical procedures as well as autonomous prescribing for patients in a community clinic.

Provide clinical treatment in the community

To ensure urgent medication is prescribed, taking to account any existing medication the patient is on.

Full GMC registration

Diploma in Dermatology or equivalent

MRCGP or equivalent

We are a General Practice in Bradford West Yorkshire. We hold AQP contracts with the ICB/ICS. We are a medium practice of 8350 patients. JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: GP with Specialist Interest in Dermatology

Location: As per employment contract

Responsible to: Practice Business Manager (Operations), and Lead GP Partner (Clinical)

Hours of work: sessional (locum)

Salary: sessional dependent on experience

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The post holder will participate in outpatient clinics and will undertake Dermatological diagnostic and surgical procedures as well as autonomous prescribing for patients in a community clinic. The post holder will report to the Practice Manager and the Lead GP Partner and is responsible for delivery and supervision of all aspects of the dermatology service, in line with agreed aims and objectives. The post holder will drive best practice in overall patient care within the service.

RESPONSIBILITIES Main duties and responsibilities:

Provide clinical treatment in the community

To ensure urgent medication is prescribed, taking to account any existing medication the patient is on.

To ensure non-urgent prescribing is undertaken within the clinic where appropriate and within agreed guidelines

Provide a comprehensive and systematic assessment of the patient to include lifestyle impact

In partnership with the patient, and where appropriate the provider, agree a treatment plan in accordance with the diagnosis and prognosis of the condition

Support the ability of patients to self-manage through education and assist patients and their carers on their conditions and offer advice on management of daily activities, preventative measures, equipment and health promotion

Ensure that the patient is fully aware of procedure and treatment options and associated risks to facilitate informed consent

Ensure that the patient is provided with the relevant information to allow informed choice and awareness of their condition and management. This must include details for support groups

Regarding face to face clinics, on completion of treatment produce a comprehensive final report which includes diagnosis, management and recommendations which will be sent to the referring GP within a maximum 5 working days of completion of treatment. 90% of reports should be communicated within 2 working days

Support the delivery a phased adult protection training plan for staff.

Adhere to standard appointment times: Initial assessment: 20 minutes, Follow up appointment: 10 minutes
