Job summary
Briarwood Medical Centre is seeking a part-time GP (6 sessions) who will work within their professional scope of practice providing care for patients face to face and via telephone consultations.
The post holder will operate within their own sphere of competence and agreed acceptable limits of practice to provide expert professional clinical advice to patients, carers and colleagues, ensuring clinical safety and excellence.
The post holder will use their skills, knowledge and competencies as a qualified GP in order to be responsible and accountable for managing patient caseloads for treatments, investigations, monitoring and referrals.
Ideally aware of QOF and KPI's with previous general practice experience.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
The post-holder will undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion, They will make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems,
whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within
the organisation.

Provide a high level of clinical care for our patients.
To manage daily surgeries comprising of face-to-face, telephone or video consultations.

and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding
hand-written prescriptions whenever possible).
Prescribing
in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically)
whenever this is clinically appropriate.
In
general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal
duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary
care.
Awareness
of and compliance with all relevant Practice policies/guidelines, eg
prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety.
A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best
practice.
Contributing
