Job summary

A rare opportunity has arisen to join a highly effective General Practice Surgery in the picturesque market town of Farnham in Surrey, close to the North Hants border. We are a conscientious, supportive, resilient and friendly Practice who are seeking a new salaried GP to work up to 6 sessions per week. We have a very low turnover of clinicians and recent recruitment has been satisfied internally with registrars who have trained with us. However, given our increasing patient population, the loss of some GP sessions and in anticipation of Partner retirement in the foreseeable future, we are seeking to recruit enthusiastic and resilient GPs to join our team. We are a robust team with a shared ethos of striving to improve patient care both within our own Practice and across Farnham by working creatively and collaboratively with our neighbouring Practices. We take active leadership roles within our PCN and ICT to help share and deliver improving health outcomes. We have a long history of innovation and were one of only a handful of Practices in England to be awarded Vanguard funding to be a pilot for implementing new models of care, much of which has since been adopted into Primary Care Strategy nationwide.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to provide the full range of NHS General Medical Services to the Patients registered across all the sites of the Practice.

About us

The Practice is based across 2 sites: one at the Farnham Centre for Health and the other in the village of Lower Bourne. We also hold a contract to provide primary care services to a local school for disabled young people as well as retainers for local care homes. We are well respected in the local community and take a proactive approach to community support. In addition, we are a training Practice for all clinical roles, hold the highest QOF achievements, and support a home visiting paramedic in our team. Our patient list is permanently increasing and is currently in excess of 14200.

In total we have over 60 staff including 6 partner GPs, 7 salaried GPs, and an Advanced Paramedic, along with support from the nursing team and other clinical roles.
