Job summary

As our continued journey of delivering for our patients across Erewash Health Partnership, a fantastic opportunity has arisen to initially support 2 of the sites of West Park Surgery & Moir Medical Centre. This new role is key to delivering high quality, excellent services, focussing on day to day delivery and management of the sites and collective PCN services.

About us

Erewash Health Partnership (EHP) was established on 1 April 2018 and is a single GP Partnership comprising of seven constituent practices (see below). EHP employs approximately 250 people who work within the constituent practices and central team.

As well as providing high quality core primary care services, EHP is the prime provider for delivering services to Erewash Primary Care Network (EPCN), as well as operating its own services for EHP Partners.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities of the role (subject to change) :

a. Core operational areas of responsibility including direct line management of Service Leads where appropriate across the Practices' and PCN area services covering the following to meet agreed targets/KPIs:

  • Practices' Operations & Development
  • Service delivery (GP/ANP/Nursing/HCA/Admin/Other)
  • Risk Management
  • Fire, Health, Safety & Security
  • Premises, Procurement, Equipment & Sites' Management
  • IM&T & IG
  • People services (local)
  • Finance (local)
  • CQC and Quality (local)
  • Comms & Engagement (Including PPGs & stakeholders) (local)

This includes:

a. Overseeing the day-to-day operational services of the practices' ensuring all staff achieve their primary responsibilities, delivering in line with the Practices' and EHP mission, vision and objectives reporting to the Managing Partner.

b. Being both the escalation point and on-site support to Service Leads/Manager/Supervisor as needed.

c. Lead locally working with EHP Corporate Leads:

  • Ensuring delivery and continuously improving the localised People/HR requirements including effective line/supervisory management, inductions, JDs, etc.

d. Ensuring all elements of local finance are managed and delivered including claims, QOF, liaising with GPs, Nursing staff and administrators, liaising with EHP Corporate team as needed.

e. Ensuring local quality strategy adherence and compliance with CQC regulations and standards.

f. Be the lead for maintaining and supporting an local overview of staff welfare, escalating issues early for quick resolution.

g. Work with EHP corporate leads to deliver local requirements of Finance, People/HR, Quality, Communications, Research etc. and other corporate functions.

h. Ensure local communications are fully adhered to in line with EHP comms strategy

i. Leading change and continuous improvement initiatives; coordinating all projects within the practices to deliver the EHP vision

j. Ensuring best value is achieved, including management of, procurement of practice equipment, supplies and services and their deliverables against contracts

k. Adopting a strategic approach to the management of all patient services matters

l. Supporting implementation of an effective communication strategy (internal and external)

m. Ensuring the practice maintains compliance with its NHS contractual obligations

n. Actively encouraging and promoting the use of patient online services and NHS App

o. Liaising at external meetings as required.

p. Ensure complaints and compliments are dealt with in a timely manner and where necessary escalated to the next level

q. Ensuring all staff have the appropriate level of training to enable them to carry out their individual roles and responsibilities effectively

r. Support around preparing agendas for meetings

  • Significant successful experience of working in large multi site Primary Care Practice/s at senior level (operations and development).
  • Successful experience of managing managers/senior supervisors, and large MDT staff groups.
  • Experience of managing large multidisciplinary teams.
  • Successfully delivering change, projects and continuous improvement.
  • Experience of performance management, including appraisal writing, staff development and disciplinary procedures.
  • Experience of workforce planning, forecasting and development.
  • Experience of managing security.
  • Significant experience of procurement, contracting and site management.
  • Experience of managing GP Practice Quality and CQC requirements.
  • Experience of effective communications delivery internally and externally to stakeholders.
