Job summary

We are looking to recruit Trainee Nursing Associates to work within Erewash Primary Care Networks Multidisciplinary hubs.

The post holders will work with a diverse range of people from different cultural and social backgrounds. The ability to work confidentially and effectively in a varied, and sometimes challenging environment is essential.

The successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be organised, patient and empathetic.

Be willing to enroll on and successfully complete the 2 year Trainee Nursing Associate programme and additional training as required.

Main duties of the job

To work as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) delivering a high standard of care that focuses on the direct needs of patients.

Delivery of high quality, compassionate care whilst undertaking specific clinical and care tasks under the direction of a registered nurse (or other registered care professional) with a focus on promoting good health and independence.

Work with a supervisor to take responsibility for developing own clinical competence, leadership, and reflective practice skills within the workplace, while on placements and through attending the nursing associate training programme.

Develop by the end of the nursing associate training programme the ability to work without direct supervision, at times delivering care independently in line with the individuals defined plan of care, within the parameters of the nursing associate role, accessing clinical and care advice when needed.

You will maintain a high professional standard of nursing care in adherence to all Practice protocols/policies & guidelines, as well as to provide nursing assistance to the GPs and other members of the primary healthcare team.

The role of the Trainee Nursing Associate needs to be flexible in line with the present atmosphere for change within the health service delivery. It is essential that the Trainee Nursing Associate works within their own level of competency and expand her/his role in accordance with practice requirements and own scope of practice.

  • Demonstrable ability to study at Level 5 Diploma of Higher Education Level and commit to completing the Foundation Degree programme.
  • GCSE Grade A-C in Maths & English or skills level 2 Maths & English or equivalent.

Desirable

  • Qualifications and Credit Framework Level 3 in Care or equivalent in terms of both academic attainment and previous care experience.
  • Essential induction training and experience - care certificate or equivalent.

Experience

  • Experience of working in teams under appropriate supervision as part of a multidisciplinary team.
