Job summary

We are looking to recruit a Nursing Associate to work within our Team of Nursing Associates and Trainee Nursing Associates across the Erewash Primary Care Networks Multidisciplinary hubs.

The post holders will work with a diverse range of people from different cultural and social backgrounds. The ability to work confidentially and effectively in a varied, and sometimes challenging environment is essential.

The successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be organised, patient and empathetic. They will have experience of working in health, social care or other support roles including direct contact with people, families or carers.

Main duties of the job

To work as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to provide and monitor care, under direct or indirect supervision.

Perform and record clinical observations such as blood pressure, temperature, respiration's and pulse etc.

After undertaking appropriate training, provide flu vaccinations, ECG's and venepuncture , and other relevant clinical tasks as required by the PCN, in line with the competencies of the role.

Promote health and well-being to all patients, for example undertaking the NHS health check.

Advise patients on general healthcare and promote self management where appropriate, including signposting patients to personalised care colleagues and local community and voluntary sector services.

Improve safety and quality of care at every opportunity.

Contribute to the delivery of integrated care.

Work with the Primary Care Networks MDT to ensure delivery of nursing associate duties complement existing workforce.

Erewash Primary Care Network (PCN) is a large PCN supporting a population of just over 100,000. We have 11 practices in and around the market towns of Ilkeston and Long Eaton which share a long history of collaborative working to improve the health of our population.

You will maintain a high professional standard of nursing care in adherence to all Practice protocols/policies & guidelines, as well as to provide nursing assistance to the GPs and other members of the primary healthcare team.

The role of the Nursing Associate needs to be flexible in line with the present atmosphere for change within the health service delivery. It is essential that the Nursing Associate works within their own level of competency and expand her/his role in accordance with practice requirements and own scope of practice.
