Job summary
We are looking for a reliable and experienced qualifiedDispenser to join our friendly and supportive team at Ashcroft Surgery.
This is a key role within our practice, supporting the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to our patients. You will work closely with GPs, the dispensary team and reception to ensure prescriptions are processed accurately, queries are managed effectively, and patients receive a high standard of care.
We are a well-established GP practice with a strong team ethos, where staff are valued and supported day-to-day. We recognise the importance of a well-run dispensary and aim to provide a working environment where you feel confident, supported and able to do your role effectively.

Main duties of the job
You will play a key role in the day-to-day running of our dispensary, ensuring prescriptions are processed safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard. Working closely with clinicians and the wider practice team, you will help manage queries, prioritise workload and support a smooth and timely service for patients.
The role involves accurate dispensing of medications, maintaining appropriate stock levels, and ensuring all work is carried out in line with practice procedures and safety requirements. You will also provide a professional and approachable service to patients, handling queries with care and attention.
This is a busy and varied role where attention to detail, organisation and reliability are essential. You will be expected to work both independently and as part of a team, contributing positively to the dispensary and wider practice. Experience of working in a dispensary setting and the ability to manage workload effectively will be important in this role.

Process repeat and acute prescriptions in a timely and accurate manner

Dispense medications in accordance with prescriptions, standard operating procedures and legal requirements

Ensure all medications are correctly labelled and checked prior to issue
