Job summary
As a General Practice Assistant your focus will be to offer professional, high-quality customer service as the first point of contact within the practice, as well as provide a range of administrative services. This will include arranging appointment, referrals, test and follow-up appointments, work collaboratively with the practice team to meet the needs of our patients and supporting the delivery of policy and procedures.
Main duties of the job
- Ensure total familiarity with all appointment systems including regular and incidental variations.
- Book appointments and recalls ensuring sufficient information is recorded.
- Monitor effectiveness of the system and report any problems or variations to the Reception manager.
- Helping the nursing team with the clinical admin and referrals.
- Sort clinical post and refer to the appropriate person.
- Extract information from clinical letters that needs coding and adding this to patient notes.
