Salaried GP
with a view to partnership
We are excited
to invite candidates to apply for the position of salaried GP, with a view to
partnership for four to eight sessions per week. We are looking for a highly
motivated individual to join our friendly team.
We are the
countrys most easterly practice in Lowestoft, just a stones throw from a
beautiful beach.
We have a list
size of 12700 patients. The practice clinical team has three partners, one
salaried GP, nurse practitioners, ECP, practice nurses, Health and Wellbeing
Adviser, Assistant Practitioner, Care Coordinator, HCAs, a pharmacist and
pharmacy technician. With excellent support function including a practice
management team, non-clinical admin, secretarial and reception support
team.

Main duties of the job
Main duties:
Patient
consultations, face to face, telephone, email via digital platform
Home visits
(limited having support of practice home visiting team)
Patient admin
Prescription
and medicines management
Part of duty
rota on pro-rata basis with other GPs
Attend team
meetings including MDT, safeguarding and clinical governance
Any other
duties as per the expectation of the role of a GP

The Practice has 3 Partners and a Practice Manager who work together to provide patient care in Lowestoft. We have a supportive, friendly and happy environment, a recent staff survey identified that staff are happy here and we work together to provide the best for our patients.

To undertake a
variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and
queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions
and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
Making professional,
autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred
or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
Assessing the
health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Screening
patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
Developing care
plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice
disease management protocols
Providing
counselling and health education
Admitting or
discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care
providers as appropriate
Recording clear
and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
Collecting data
for audit purposes
Compiling and
issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding
hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
Prescribing in
accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever
this is clinically appropriate
In general, the
post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and
responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
