Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, who is highly organised, proactive with a keen eye for detail to join our friendly team at Springfield Medical Practice.
The role will provide a comprehensive and confidential patient centred clinical administration and secretarial service to a multi- disciplinary team. The successful applicant will ideally have previous NHS experience and will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
They will be able to prioritise their workload, work under pressure and work flexibly within the existing team. Good organisational skills, an ability to manage your time effectively and being a team player are also essential. You must have a recognised qualification in typing/word processing, together with GCSE English and Maths.
The post will be 22.5 hours per week worked over 3 days, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9am - 5pm.
These days will be non-negotiable, so if these are not suitable for you please do not apply.
The successful candidate should be flexible to provide cover and support during busy periods, holiday and absences.
Starting salary £9.73 increasing after 6 months
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the efficient administration process of correspondence received and distributed at the practice this will including, hospital, community, private and third parties/agencies referrals.
Manage requests and queries received for prescriptions, via telephone, face to face and email in a timely manner, alerting the clinical team and patients regarding medication review timeframes and taking action in accordance with the practice repeat medication policy and procedures as set out by the partners.
Working in accordance with the repeat medication policy and procedures to ensure medication changes received via third party correspondence and medical intervention are taken when indicated to facilitate safe prescribing and notifying the clinical team to enable the changes.
Undertake general office correspondence using Microsoft packages, AccRux, Docmail and EMIS clinical system.
Work with timelines for all two-week wait and urgent referrals
Liaise with all third-party agencies to arrange the patient care and establish good working relationships, including pharmacies on issues with supply of prescribed drugs.
Comprehensive use of CRRS, Path Lab Links, Docman, Tquest and any other medium that may be introduced to maintain patient care

We have a friendly team at Springfield Medical Practice who are all committed to providing a high standard of service and clinical care to our approx. 7,000 patients currently registered. We are a training practice situated on the North side of Coventry comprising of 6 GP partners who are supported by a Physician Associate, a clinical pharmacist and a strong nursing team We are part of the Coventry North PCN with 3 other surgeries in the area.
