Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two part-time medical receptionists to join us at Wolstanton Medical Centre. Each role will be approx. 3 - 4 day per week (hours to be confirmed but candidates must be able to work between the hours of 7:30am - 6:30pm).
You would be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception and administrative duties
and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can
include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, patient
registration, booking appointments, processing of information (electronic and
hard copy) and assisting patients as required. To act as the central point of
contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries
for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and
external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
Main duties of the job

Maintaining
and monitoring the practice appointment system

Process
personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
c.
Answer
incoming phone calls, transferring calls and dealing with the callers request
appropriately
d.
Signpost
patients to the correct service
e.
Initiating
contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and
external agencies
f.
Process
referrals to external agencies such as secondary care using the electronic
referral system (ERS)
g.
Process
calling letters as requested
h.
Process
all DNA letters in accordance with current policy
i.
Action

Photocopy
documentation as required
k.
File
and store records as required

Data
entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as
required

Input

About us
We are a friendly, well organised, GMS teaching, training, and research-active practice with high QOF scores and an outstanding CQC rating. We are a team of more than 30 staff and consider it important to maintain a supportive team ethos.
As a practice we have always embraced multi-disciplinary team working. The Partners, approved GP Trainers, are providing care alongside Salaried GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners and a Physician Associate, looking after approximately 11,000 patients. We are supported by a full complement of Practice Nurses and HCAs and, in addition, Additional Role Reimbursement Scheme clinical staff employed via our PCN, including First Contact Physiotherapist, Social Prescriber, Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, Mental Health Practitioner, Health & Wellbeing Coach and Care Co-ordinator. We use EMIS Web, Docman 10 and AccuRx.
We are a very experienced training practice taking medical students and GP ST grade doctors, as well as Physician Associate Interns, Practice Nurses in their Foundation Year, and student nurses. Together we bring our experiences from outside the practice to innovate and push the standards of care we provide higher. We hold regular practice meetings which include safeguarding, palliative care, significant events and Quality Improvement.
