Nurses play a vital
role in general practice (GP) by supporting patient care, improving health
outcomes, and easing the workload of doctors. Their responsibilities include
conducting health assessments, managing chronic diseases (like diabetes and
hypertension), giving vaccinations, educating patients about health and
lifestyle, and providing wound care. Nurses often act as the first point of
contact for patients, offering advice, triage, and early intervention. Their
work promotes preventive care, helps manage minor illnesses, and ensures
patients receive continuous, coordinated care. By building strong relationships
with patients, nurses also improve trust and satisfaction within the healthcare
system.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking an experienced and confident Practice Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare team. The ideal candidate must have prior experience in general practice,be confident in using the EMIS clinical system, and demonstrate a high standard of patient care and clinical competence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct health assessments, triage patients, and provide clinical advice.
- Administer childhood and travel vaccinations, wound care, cervical screening, B12 injections and other treatment procedures.
- Support chronic disease management programs (e.g., diabetes, asthma, cardiovascular health).
- Drawing bloods and provide patient education and health promotion activities (e.g., smoking cessation, weight management).
- Manage infection control and maintain clinical equipment.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records using electronic health systems.
- Work within regulatory and clinical governance frameworks, ensuring best practice standards.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and contribute to practice audits and reviews.

operations, we have a team of four skilled administrative and reception staff
