Job summary

We are looking to recruit an experienced, dynamic, Practice Manager to join our friendly and well-established dispensing Practice. We place a strong emphasis on staff well-being and are focused on maintaining a positive work-life balance and a supportive working environment.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully leading a team, along with solid financial and HR management. You should have experience of strategic leadership and forging innovation along with the ability to identify potential opportunities and threats and formulate objectives and ideas for future Practice development. You will need to be able to remain calm under pressure and focus on the bigger picture. Previous Practice Manager experience or experience working in General Practice or the NHS is highly desirable.

Ideally, we are looking for someone to work full time 37.5 hours per week over 5 days.

Main duties of the job

The role requires someone who is confident in managing staff and has strong leadership skills. The individual must be able to demonstrate strong strategic and financial management alongside more general management including health and safety, IT, HR and quality improvement. The successful candidate will be assisted by an Assistant practice manager, dispensary manager and supportive and enthusiastic Partners.

Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of the practice, ensuring smooth, safe and efficient service delivery.

Staff Management: Recruit and manage all staff. Conduct performance evaluations and manage staff schedules.

Financial Management: Manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure cost-effective operations. Handle claims, invoicing and financial reporting. Use of Xero software is an advantage and proficiency with EMIS is important.

Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure the practice complies with all relevant regulations and standards, including CQC requirements. Implement quality improvement initiatives.

Patient Relations: Enhance patient satisfaction by addressing concerns, improving service delivery, and maintaining effective communication.

Strategic Planning: Work with senior management to develop and implement strategic plans for practice growth and development.

IT and Systems Management: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of IT systems, ensuring data security and efficient use of technology.

About us

Grey Gable Surgery is a multi-disciplinary team with two GP directors We are a GP training practice based in Inkberrow Worcestershire. The practice has easy access to Worcester, Bromsgrove, Redditch, Evesham and Pershore.

We look after 6200 patients , the majority of whom are classed as dispensing patients .We are fortunate to have a great team who work together to provide the best possible care to our patients and this is reflected in the excellent feedback we receive via the friends and family tests and national patient survey

We are a dispensing Practice with our own Dispensary and a Clinical Pharmacist supported by pharmacy technicians. Our clinicians and patients are supported by a competent and committed team of receptionists and administrators.

We are focused on providing the highest standard of care for our patients and train and support both our clinical and non-clinical staff to deliver this. In the last GP survey, we were proud to be above both the local and national benchmarks in terms of patient satisfaction.

We achieve highly on QOF, local quality targets and are rated Good by CQC.
