Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to work 4 sessions at Crawcrook Medical Centre on Thursday and Friday (AM and PM).
Our sessional rate is based on full time hours over 4 days meaning each session is around 4hrs and 40mins.
Each session includes the following:
- 14 face to face appointments and completion of related clinical administration
- Fair share of visits when required (normally completed by our elderly care lead and Nurse Practitioners)
- Fair share of bloods, tasks and medical reports (part-completed by non-clinical staff)
- Assisting completion of the urgent clinical task group and routine clinical task group
- General support to the wider clinical team to join our team at Crawcrook Medical Centre
- Other reasonable duties as required
You will be part of our wider team of 6 whole time equivalent GPs and 7.5 whole time equivalent Nurse Practitioners, with pharmacy and nursing support.
Crawcrook Medical Centre is the main site of Gateshead Healthcare, a growing Practice of 20,500 patients with additional branch surgeries at Rowlands Gill Medical Centre, Grange Road Medical Centre, and Blaydon GP Surgery.
Main duties of the job
- Provide high quality patient care
- Provide face to face and telephone consultations as required
- Effectively utilise in house and external services when needed
- Complete all clinical administration work related to patients seen
- Work collaboratively and contribute to the management and completion of general clinical administration, including bloods, tasks, urgent enquiries, medical reports, for example
- Attend and contribute to clinical practice meetings as required
- Ensure that each patient encounter is maximised to attain contractual target requirements
