Job summary

Millway Medical Practice, an esteemed, high achieving NHS GP practice in Mill Hill, is excited to welcome a new Healthcare Assistant in to our dynamic and expanding team. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing essential support to our patients and contributing to their overall well-being. You will work closely with our team of healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the highest quality care and support during their healthcare journey.

Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our patients receive the best care possible. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Taking and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, & pulse

- Performing basic clinical procedures, such as phlebotomy (perform venipuncture and collect blood samples from patients for diagnostic tests, wound care, immunisations, & NHS health checks (this list is not exhaustive)

- Ensure proper labelling and handling of blood samples, and maintain accurate records (including adding consultations via EMIS)

-Administer vaccinations and immunisations following established protocols and guidelines

-Maintain vaccine storage and temperature monitoring

- Supporting the healthcare team with administrative tasks and patient education

- Ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients

1. Assisting healthcare professionals with patient examinations and procedures

  • - NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification
