Job summary

Leyton Collaborative PCN is looking to recruit experienced or newly qualified Physician Associates to join our multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate is required to have completed the Physician Associate Postgraduate Diploma/Masters from an accredited UK university and will be registered with the Physician Associate Managed Voluntary Register (PAMVR) held by the Faculty of Physician Associates (FPA).

We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic and adaptable to change, with excellent clinical skills and a good level of competence in the use of I.T. Candidates should exhibit good organisational skills and ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of healthcare professionals and other stakeholders including patients, families and carers. The successful candidate will work in a number of practices, independently, but also as part of a supportive practice team and the Primary Care Network.

Main duties of the job

As a Physician Associate (PA) you will be acting within your professional boundaries, providing care for patients from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of their care under the supervision of a GP. You will demonstrate safe clinical decision-making and expert care for patients within a General Practice team to support the delivery of policy and procedures to meet the needs of patients.

About us

Leyton Collaborative Primary Care Networks (PCN) was created in July 2019 and comprise a 3 GP surgeries that serve a neighbourhood of typically between 30,000 and 50,000 residents. The PCN serves a population of approximately 38,000 patients across a varied geography. Post holders will be required to work across 3 surgeries within the PCN.

3 separate practices that have formed a network in order to benefit from shared resources and to be able to offer healthcare services at scale to its population.

Job Summary

As Physician Associate, you will work as part of the Team using a wide range of the skills you have including (but not limited to);

Care planning

  • Supporting GPs with managing results
  • Supporting GPs with their paperwork.

As the Physician Associate you will act within your professional boundaries, providing care for patients from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of their care under the supervision of a GP.

You will show safe clinical decision-making and expert care for patients within the general practice, in consultation with the duty GP. You will work with the multi-disciplinary general practice team to support the delivery of policy and procedures and meet the needs of patients.

Supervision and mentoring will be provided by the appropriate senior medical staff - the type of support will depend on the post holders skills and knowledge and determined by our clinical governance arrangements.

You will have annual appraisals and continuing professional development as provided by the Practice Manager and Partners and set out by the Faculty of Physician Associates (FPA).
