Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated GP to join a friendly clinical team at Warwick Gates Family Health Centre. We are looking for a total of 10-12 GP sessions to join our team and support us in continuing to provide high standard Primary Care to our local population in Warwick Gates and surrounding areas.

We pride ourselves on being a caring and forward thinking practice, our dedicated team work collaboratively to deliver an excellent service at every contact and ensure excellent clinical outcomes.

We have an outstanding team and work hard to ensure that our GPs and wider team are engaged and motivated contributing to service delivery and a supportive culture of mutual learning.

We have robust governance processes in place, including a rotation of weekly meetings and gatherings focused on practice quality & performance, safeguarding and vulnerable patients, staff/operations, significant events and GP collaboration; an opportunity for clinical engagement regarding appointments system and case sharing.

Partners encourage a culture of transparency and openness to ensure learning from all feedback ad complaints received.

We have an active Patient Group who meet bi-monthly with the Practice Manager and other staff members. The Group are sighted on practice plans and objectives, opportunities to improve access, patient survey results and PCN priorities.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will:

Provide high quality effective patient care

Investigate and refer patients as appropriate in line with current NICE guidance

Carry out both face to face and telephone consultations; x15 during morning session and x18 during afternoon session

Carry out baby checks weekly or as required

Deal efficiently with results and correspondence

Ensure appropriate clinical coding to support clinical audit and Quality & Outcome achievements

Ensure accurate and robust note keeping

Ensure excellent communication skills with patients, carers and their families

Ensure attendance and contributions at weekly meetings and educational sessions

Build strong working relationships with Partners and the wider practice team ensuring collaborative with all staff

Effectively manage own time, workload and resources

Ensure compliance with on line mandatory training

Attend required training events e.g. PLT and feedback

Proactively report and consider any Learning/Significant Events

Liaise with team members and external organisations involved in patient care and respond promptly to queries

Share concerns and gather clinical insight from peers where needed

Lead areas are encouraged where special interests apply

About us

The successful candidate(s) will join a friendly and dynamic practice team who work together to serve a practice population of approx 11,500 patients and aim to deliver modern primary care with the traditional feel of a family GP Practice.

Due to local housing developments, our patient list size is increasing at pace with ongoing growth and sustainability at the centre of our strategic planning.

We currently have 4 Partners; 3 GP Partners plus a Managing Partner. Our team consists of 4 salaried GPs, 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Healthcare Assistant, 3 Medical Secretaries and a team of Care-Coordinators overseen and supported by our Business Manger, Head of Non Clinical services and Operations/IT Lead. We use Emis clinical system and communicate daily using MS Teams.

We are part of South Leamington Primary Care Network and work proactively with neighbouring Practices to deliver services at scale, focused on local community needs; PCN Prescribing Hub is an excellent example of how working at scale can reduce GP workload.

Partners work hard to ensure Warwick Gates Family Health Centre is a friendly and supportive environment with staff room facilities, free tea/coffee refreshments, additional holiday for staff birthdays, Christmas party and regular nights out for those that wish to join us, a strong focus on health and well-being encouraging good work/life balance.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • IT proficiency and familiarity with primary care clinical systems (the clinical system used by the practice is Emis ).
  • Excellent time keeping
  • Good understanding of GMS contracting requirements and QoF
