Come and join our friendly team at Francis Grove Surgery! We
are seeking to recruit a Practice Nurse to cover maternity leave for 9 months
-1 year. The role is 26 hours per week. You would be part of our friendly and
committed nursing team of 2 other Nurses and a HCA, and part of our wider team
of GPs, pharmacists, phlebotomists, physios, a paramedic and an ANP.
Each of the nurses, supported by the admin and clinical team,
lead in particular areas of QOF and/or practice targets. We are a high
performing practice, with an excellent reputation for delivering responsive and
patient centred care.
Recent Practice Nurse experience is essential with a desire
to deliver high quality care. You must be reliable, professional and friendly
with a can do and flexible attitude to work. We are looking for someone who
is an excellent communicator, possesses good IT skills (preferably used EMIS
before) and is able to work as part of a team.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be required to provide the
full spectrum of Practice Nurse duties including: Management of long term
conditions (Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, Hypertension), wound care, sample taking,
ECGs, cervical cytology, ear irrigations, childhood and adult immunisations and
travel vaccines. A qualification in management of a long term condition is
preferred but not essential.
Work as part of the Nursing team to assess, plan, provide
and implement and evaluate nursing care to meet the care needs of individuals
in the practice population
Identify, and manage as appropriate, treatment plans for
patients at risk of developing a long-term condition
Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care
as directed by GPs
Working alongside the GPs to manage Chronic Disease
including Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, Heart Disease etc
Contraception
Cytology
Wound care /Ulcer care/ Compression
ECGs
Hypertension Management
Routine & Childhood immunisations
Travel Vaccinations
Following clinical protocols
Participation in administrative systems in the Practice

Francis Grove Surgery is an established GP practice in the
heart of Wimbledon. The practice is a 3 partner practice, with a list size of
14,700 patients. It is situated in modern premises on the ground, first and
second floor in the Courtyard Development only minutes walk away from
stations, shops, cafes and Wimbledon Shopping Centre.
Wimbledon is a vibrant and popular suburb of London with
excellent links to other parts of London via underground and overground
stations, buses and trams. Much of the area is made up of comfortable private
housing with very little social deprivation. The practice population is well
informed, comprising a large number of working professionals and their young
families.
Francis Grove Surgery has an excellent reputation locally
and is a popular practice. Feedback from patients is very good and they tend to
stay with the practice.
