Job summary
We are looking for an additional Practice Nurse (3 days a
week) to join our Nursing Team at Brundall Medical Partnership just east of
Norwich. Ideally we are looking for a nurse with a Diabetes qualification able
to carry out Diabetic reviews.
Clinics will include general nursing pre-booked appointments,
immunisations, cytology and chronic disease clinics. A mentor
will be allocated. Training will be given in areas where
required.
The hourly rate is dependent on experience. Holiday entitlement
is 5.6 weeks plus pro-rata of Bank Holidays.
You will be an excellent team player, organised, adaptable,

Main duties of the job
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Patient Care providing a wide range of nursing services to include the following areas. Training will be given where required
PRIMARY
Patient care as directed by the Nurse Team Lead, Practice Business Manager and GPs
- Assisting GPs with minor surgery and family planning clinics including coil fittings, implants
- Blood pressure checks
- Chronic Disease monitoring and reviews with patients which may include Asthma, CHD, COPD, Diabetes, etc, as required for patient care and QoF
- Contraceptive, family planning and sexual health advice including pill and coil checks
- Cytology smear tests
- Diet and nutrition advice
- D-Dimer tests
- ECGs
- Health promotion at reviews for both men and womens health and on an opportunistic basis with referral to other members of the primary and secondary health care team as necessary
- Immunisations, including childhood, flu. pertussis, pneumococcal and shingles
- Injections including Depo-Provera, methotrexate and Zoladex
- Minor injury walk in patients
- Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
- Safeguarding recognise and report on Safeguarding concerns for both adults and children
- Swabs
- Venepuncture
