We are looking for an experienced Prescriptions Clerk / Administrator. This role is a unique opportunity in a large GP Practice in Central Bournemouth, which will be part of our Administration team.

Processing Prescriptions requests, through various systems

Supporting achievement of Practice QOF targets

Prescriptions Clerk / Administrator

Up to 37.5 hours per week (Full time and Part Time hours available)

Salary: £11.93 per hour

We are currently seeking a capable, enthusiastic, and committed Prescriptions Clerk to join our close-knit, hardworking, and friendly team. Prior experience NHS and SystmOne experience is mandatory for this position.

Job Overview:This role is dynamic and multifaceted, involving the management of patient prescription requests in various formats; face to face, telephone, and through clinical systems. It demands an individual who can maintain composure during busy periods, possesses excellent communication skills, IT proficiency, multitasking abilities, and confidence in both independent and collaborative work within a supportive and flexible team environment.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

Admin Duties: Processing prescriptions via online, paper and email requests. Workflowing letters. Working to the Dorset Formulary. Medication monitoring, working to achieve Practice QOF targets.

Problem Solving: Addressing issues and queries from patients, doctors, nurses, community staff, and other relevant agencies.

Computer Usage:Updating patient information on the computer system.

Additional Responsibilities:

Administrative and Professional Duties: Actively participating in practice team responsibilities and maintaining accurate records when requested.

Meeting Participation:Attending practice meetings and training sessions as needed.

Confidentiality:Respecting patient privacy and adhering to strict confidentiality policies and procedures regarding patient information, practice staff, and business-related data.
