Job summary

An opportunity has come up for an Administrator to join the back office admin team at Leylands Medical Centre on a casual basis to assist with non-NHS work.

This role is a casual temporary role to cover long-term sickness within the team and is a perfect opportunity for somebody who wishes to find a role that they can work around their responsibilities.

Please note, due to the nature of the role, you will be required to work in the office and home working will NOT be available.

Main duties of the job

The jobholder will be in charge of actioning any non-NHS (Private) work that comes into the practice, including patient letters, medical reports and medical records. They will be the point of contact for reception and clinical team, and ensure work is completed within our practice timeframe.

They will liaise with and work alongside the wider practice team daily, ensuring they are followingPractice policies and procedures.

There will be chances to to cover sickness and annual leave within the wider admin team where required and perform some of the following duties:

Scanning of and assigning documents onto the patient record.

Reviewing unallocated tasks and taking appropriate actions

Supporting the clinical team with making referrals to other providers

Responding to patient queries as needed.

Any other reasonable task

The jobholder will be based at our Leylands Lane branch within a team of 7 very friendly administrators.

  • Experience within the NHS
  • Experience of a fast paced administrative role
  • Experience of working in a self directed manner
  • Experience of speaking to patients/service users/customers
  • Experience of using IT systems (above and beyond Microsoft Office)

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a GP practice

  • GCSE Grade A to C in English and Maths (or equivalent experience)
