Job summary
The Phlebotomist will play a key role in the provision of high-quality patient care by collecting routine and urgent venous blood samples within a busy GP practice. Jesmond Health Partnership is located over 4 sites and you may be required to work across all sites.
Main duties of the job
- Within the GP practice perform venepuncture to collect routine and urgent blood samples from registered patients.
- Collect blood samples based on requests from a clinician or as part of annual reviews ensuring adherence to safety and infection control procedures.
- Specimen Handling:
- Label and store specimens correctly for safe and timely transfer to laboratory services.
- Follow the correct procedures for the handling, documentation, and transportation of blood samples.
