Friendly, Patient-Centred Practice
We are looking for a committed and
compassionate GP to join our supportive team at Milton Abbas Surgery for a fixed-term
maternity cover contract, salary dependant on experience, from May 2026 to the end of April 2027.
This role offers 4 sessions per week across
2 days (Mondays and Thursdays-although there is some flexibility in days), providing an excellent opportunity for
someone seeking a well-balanced, structured working pattern within a welcoming
and community-focused practice.
The position offers a varied and rewarding
clinical mix, including face-to-face, telephone and e-consultations, management
of acute and long-term conditions, and opportunities to contribute to
preventative care and health promotion. You will work closely within a
collaborative multidisciplinary team that values professionalism, mutual
support, and continuous improvement.

We are seeking a committed clinician to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care within our practice. The role includes providing face-to-face, telephone, e-consult and home visit consultations; safely prescribing and managing acute and long-term conditions; responding to urgent presentations; and promoting preventative health and self-care.
You will work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, communicate sensitively with patients and carers, maintain accurate clinical records, and refer appropriately to specialist services. The post holder will practise in line with professional guidance and national frameworks, contribute to audit and quality improvement, manage clinical risk, and ensure compliance with safeguarding, infection control, and data protection standards.
The role is based at Milton Abbas Surgery, with flexibility to support branch or outreach sites, and includes participation in ongoing professional development, supervision, and mentoring as required.
