PART-TIME MEDICAL SUMMARISER REQUIRED
FOR BUSY LONDON PRACTICE
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Medical Summarising
team in an innovative, award-winning Practice situated in East London.
We are a busy practice in Forest Gate, London. We are looking to
recruit a thorough and enthusiastic Medical Summariser who is passionate about
providing high quality care.
You will be a valued member of a primary care team of 14 Doctors,
3 Practice Nurses, 3 HCAs and 2 Summarisers.
Main duties of the job
Scanning and coding relevant patient data into the practice
clinical system (EMIS Web)
Sorting patient documents in preparation for
summarising
Reviewing medical records and producing and
accurate summary of the patient's medical history
Processing records using GP Links
Monitoring the progress of notes summarised against
practice targets
Managing data quality issues
Provide coding /summarising support and guidance to
practice administrative and clinical staff
Working flexibly to assist with gaps in
administrative cover in regard of absences and extraordinary workload
Participate in audit where appropriate

Job responsibilities
The Practice is moving towards becoming a paper-light environment, and the main responsibilities of the post-holder will be to summarise and Read Code relevant information from patients clinical records into the Practice computer system, working strictly in accordance with the Practice notes summarising protocol.
