Job summary

Whiteparish Surgery is looking to appoint an experienced and motivated Practice Nurse to join our established clinical team, following the retirement of a long standing member of staff. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well regarded rural dispensing practice serving a growing population of approximately 7,800 patients.

The successful candidate will provide a wide range of nursing services, including treatment room duties, immunisations, wound care, cervical screening and chronic disease management. A commitment to high standards of clinical practice and excellent communication skills are essential.

The role is for 20-24 hours per week, worked over 3 days. Specific working days can be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate to support both service needs and individual preferences. Salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience.

Informal visits to the Practice are welcomed by prior arrangement.

Main duties of the job

Manage programmes of care for patients with acute and chronic disease by planning and evaluating care

Review prescribed medication and provide advice on all aspects of medicines management, within scope of practice. Refer to relevant clinicians where appropriate.

Infection, prevention and control

Assess, plan, provide and evaluate nursing care to meet the needs of individuals and groups in the practice population.

Undertake diagnostic health screening, health surveillance and therapeutic interventions within a broader health promotion / public health strategy
