Paramedic

Job summary

Green Valleys Health are looking for an experienced paramedic who is able to prescribe or in training and has 4 years experience. The post holder will be able to work within their professional boundaries, will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the general practice, during home visits and assist with Care home rounds. The post holder will demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision making process. They will work collaboratively with the Green Valleys clinical team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures as required. To work at this level NMC requirements for advanced practice must be met.

Main duties of the job

Provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of their care at point of first contact, by attending to patients in a variety of clinical or non-clinical settings according to patients needs.

Demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care for patients within general practice.

Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures.

To act as an autonomous clinician with the full support of the practice team to provide safe, evidence-based, cost-effective, individualised patient care.

Provide a first point of clinical contact within the Practice for patients presenting with undifferentiated, undiagnosed problems, making use of skills in history taking, physical examination, problem-solving and clinical decision-making, to establish a diagnosis and management plan.
