Nurse at Tadley Medical Partnership
We are looking for a Practice Nurse to join
our clinical team.
Tadley Medical Partnership is a happy focused
GP Practice to the north of Basingstoke. We pride ourselves on keeping up with
the cutting edge of modern medicine whilst retaining the best of the
traditional values of general practice.
We are one happy family - our team consists of 3 GP Partners, 8 salaried GPs, 3 Practice Nurses, 2 HCA's, reception,
dispensing and administrative staff. We genuinely care about each other and
actively seek out a healthy work-life balance. Our team spirit is awesome and
we have just below 20 thousand patients who keep us busy and fulfilled.
We actively encourage and support the
development of special interest and training. We are a Training Practice. We are a diverse and friendly
team who are looking for our latest member.
Our primary care network is small encompasses
two likeminded, semi-rural GP Practices, we are starting to connect our teams
to make the most of shared experience and best practice.
We offer excellent rates of pay, 6 weeks paid
holiday a year plus bank holidays, NHS pension and study leave as appropriate.

Main duties of the job
The role of practice nurse at Tadley Medical Partnership is varied and covers everything from changing a dressing to managing our patients who are living with chronic illness. Depending on your qualifications and interests, your role could include the following and more.
- General treatment room sessions.
- Cervical smears / HPV
- Travel clinic
- Vaccination
- Diabetes management
- COPD and asthma management
- Wound care

Practice Nurse Outline Role Description
The following is a brief outline of the role, please see the attached job description for greater detail.
a. Develop, implement
and embed health promotion and well-being programmes
b. Implement and evaluate individual
treatment plans for chronic disease patients
c. Identify, manage and support patients
as risk of developing long-term conditions, preventing adverse effects on the
patients health
d. Provide routine nursing care to
patients as required in accordance with clinical based evidence, NICE and the
NSF
e. Provide travel medicine
services/Vaccinations
f. Deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriate
g. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with extant legislation
h. Assist GPs with minor surgery when required
i. Support the team in dealing with clinical emergencies
j. Implement vaccination programmes for adults and children
k. Delegate clinical responsibilities appropriately (ensuring safe practice and the task is within the scope of practice of the individual)
l. Carry out regular Audits, log fridge temperatures and carry out weekly equipment checks and cleaning

- Broad knowledge of clinical governance.

- Ability to work within own scope of practice and understanding when to refer to GPs.

- Post graduate diploma or degree (Primary Care).
- Experience of working in a primary care environment.
- Experience of working as a practice nurse or community nurse.
- Experience of chronic disease management.
- Wound Care / Removal of sutures & staples.
- ECGs.
- Venepuncture.
