We have a vacancy for a part time Medical Receptionist.

List size 18,500 patients. Clinical system - EMIS Web.

Hours per week approx. 16 @ £11.54 per hour.

Surgery opens at 8.00 am and closes at 6.30 pm Wed and Fri and

8 pm Mon, Tues and Thursday

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the role include greeting patients either face to face or via telephone.To support the practice clinical team by signposting patients to the appropriatehealthcare professional or service, working as part of the practicesmultidisciplinary team.Processing prescription requests. Dealing with queries. New patient registrations. Use of EMIS Web clinical software.

We have a large team of Receptionists led by our Patient Experience Manager. We require an enthusiastic candidate with exceptional customer care skills who will strive to promote a positive and helpful service for our patients.

The Medical Receptionist/Care Navigator plays a crucial role in supporting patients by guiding them through the healthcare system, ensuring they receive the appropriate care and services. This position involves working closely with patients, GPs, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes.

To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include, but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, the processing of information and assisting patients as required.

To act as the central point of contact for patients, be responsible for the distribution of information, messages and enquires for the clinical team and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
