Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated part-time GP partner for our two-partner practice in Brentford. Minimum 4 sessions per week. Currently, our practice is fully staffed with a friendly and caring team who works together to provide excellent patient care. We have a team of skilled professionals consists of two GP partners, 3 salaried GPs, 2 ANPs, 1 nurse, 1 HCA, 1 phlebotomist and a pharmacist.

Our list size is 9000 with an interesting mixed demographic. We are active within PCN and our PCN staff consists of pharmacists, first contact physio, a social prescriber, mental health advisor, a paramedic and a dietician. We are rated Good by CQC and we use system one.

We value best practices, support one another and focus on professional development and flexibility for our staff. We have several meetings including clinical and practice meetings and we encourage progress in leadership and special interests.

We are within a purpose-built health center with good facilities including spacious and air-conditioned clinical rooms including free staff car and bicycle parking. We are located within easy access to Brentford station, Boston Manor underground station, easy link to London, facilities etc.

Informal visits or discussions with GP partners are welcome.

Main duties of the job

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract.

Adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, and maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Job responsibilities

Please contact the Assistant Practice Manager to arrange an informal visit and we can provide a detailed overview of the practice.

To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Collaborative Working

All staff are to recognise the significance of collaborative working. Teamwork is essential in multidisciplinary environments. Effective communication is also essential and all staff must ensure they communicate in a manner which enables the sharing of information in an appropriate manner.

Service Delivery

Staff at Brentford Group Practice must adhere to the information contained within practice policies and regional directives, ensuring protocols are adhered to at all times. Staff will be given detailed information during the induction process regarding policy and procedure.

Leave

All personnel are entitled to take leave. Line managers are to ensure all of their staff are afforded the opportunity to take a minimum of 6 weeks annual leave plus 8 bank holidays and 1-week study leave.

Primary Responsibilities:

The following are the core responsibilities of the GP Partner . There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population

The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract

Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance

Effective management of long-term conditions

Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks

On a rotational basis, undertake duty doctor roles

Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance

Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload

Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process

Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice

Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF

Attend and contribute effectively to practice and partners meetings as required

Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including; clinical governance, training, financial management and HR

Ensure compliance with the appraisal process

Prepare and complete the revalidation process

Commit to self-learning and instill an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team

Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure

Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times

Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times

Secondary Responsibilities:

Participate in practice audits as requested by the audit lead

Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care

Participate in the review of significant. complaints and near-miss events applying a structured approach i.e. root cause analysis (RCA)
