Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced Medicines Lead to join our Reception and Prescribing team. The Medicines Lead will be based on the front desk, working alongside the Reception Team, and will act as the first point of contact for prescription queries. The role involves managing repeat prescriptions, resolving medication issues, liaising with clinicians and pharmacies, and issuing medication to patients in a safe and efficient manner. We are looking for someone with at least 2 years experience in a medicines based role, either in primary care or within a pharmacy setting, who can combine strong clinical administration knowledge with excellent communication and patient care skills.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
Act as the main point of contact for all prescription and medication-related queries, both face to face and via telephone.
Manage and process repeat prescription requests accurately and efficiently.
Resolve patient medication issues by liaising with prescribers, pharmacists, and external providers as required. September 25
Ensure appropriate and safe issuing of medication in line with practice policy and procedures.
Accurately update patient records on SystmOne and ensure audit trails are maintained.
Work collaboratively with the Reception Team to support patient flow and queries.
Support clinicians by triaging and escalating medication-related queries appropriately.
Maintain confidentiality and patient dignity at all times.
Deliver a high standard of patient care with a compassionate, empathetic, and solution-focused approach.
