Job summary

Salaried GP with a view Pathway to Partnership.

4-6 sessions per week.

Holding own list of patients pro rata to sessions.

Family friendly, supportive training practice in Old Amersham.

11,600 patients cared for in well established and stable GP practice.

2 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, and a multi skilled nursing team with a Health Care Assistant and secretarial support.

Leadership areas supported along with clinical interests.

Active and thriving Primary Care Network.

Main duties of the job

Clinical sessions seeing up to 15 patients per AM session and 12 in PM session.

Mix of telephone calls and face to face.

CPD time and 6 weeks annual leave.

Manage own correspondence, lab and prescriptions, admin cover for days off.

Oncall GP as pro rata with other GPs.

Using EMIS Web, Docman and Klinik Online Consultation Tool.

Indemnity paid.

Job responsibilities

Hours of Work

Full-time general practitioners will normally be contracted to work for 37 hours per working week (contracted hours) such hours being divided into nine nominal sessions. Such sessions may be divided up into specific working periods by mutual agreement. A part-time practitioner shall be remunerated on a pro rata basis to a full-time practitioners salary. You are contracted to work five clinical sessions which will normally be of 4 hours duration. Reference should be made to your Job Plan for the timing and content of these sessions, and any requirement to work additional sessions or additional hours as needed. The timing may change subject to agreement and operational requirements.

Pro-rata arrangements for part-time workers will also apply to annual leave, protected time for professional development, and pensionable service.

You are entitled to an unpaid lunch break of 30 minutes.

Duties

These duties are subject to at least annual review and amendment by mutual agreement.

Surgery: 4 - 6 sessions per week over the course of the 2 or 3 days

Frequency of appointments: Every 10 minutes

Number of appointments: 15 per morning session and 12 per afternoon session

Morning sessions starting at 9am

Afternoon sessions starting at 3.30pm

Administrative/Paperwork/Correspondence/Results: Daily

Home visits as appropriate for patients under your care

Debrief GP trainees when requested in lieu of appointments

Oncall GP

8am to 830 Telephone advise only from OOH

Admin cover for absent GPs

Sign prescriptions for absent GPs

Assign home visits to trainees / arrange with fellow GPs

Deal with urgent list and online consults

Manage urgent tasks from team

Advise nursing team / ANPs if required

1800- 1830 Telephone advice only from OOH
