Hours: Monday to Friday, 3:00pm 6:00pm

Contract: Locum (sessional, no fixed contract)

Main duties of the job

The postholder will provide autonomous clinical assessment, diagnosis and management of children and young people attending childrens clinics, working within agreed scope of practice and PCN governance arrangements.

The Role

St Helens South PCN Ltd is seeking an experienced Locum Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)to support ourChildrens Clinicsto be based in a GP practices in St Helens South Network.

This is a locum opportunity to cover weekday afternoon clinics, helping us to meet service demand.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioner
  • Relevant experience working with children in primary care or similar settings
  • NMC registration with appropriate prescribing qualification
  • EMIS Trained
  • Ability to work autonomously within GP practice settings
  • Enhanced DBS clearance
  • Appropriate professional indemnity

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake comprehensive clinical assessment, diagnosis and management of children and young people within agreed scope of practice
  • Prescribe medications in line with professional competence, local formularies and national guidance
  • Initiate investigations, interpret results and take appropriate action
  • Refer to secondary care and community services as required
  • Escalate clinical concerns appropriately to the named GP or clinical lead
  • Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical records on practice clinical systems
  • Work collaboratively with the wider MDT, practice teams and PCN services
  • Adhere to PCN, practice and NHS policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements

Professional & Governance Requirements

  • Work within NMC Code of Professional Standards
  • Maintain appropriate professional indemnity cover for locum practice
  • Comply with CQC, safeguarding, infection control and information governance standards
  • Participate in local induction and follow agreed escalation pathways
