Job summary
We are looking for an experienced NMC-registered Nurse Associateto join our forward-thinking and award-winning practice team based in the heart of Hackney. The successful candidate will be working as part of the practices multidisciplinary team, delivering care within their scope of practice to the registered patient population.As a Nursing Associate, you'll be a key part of our multidisciplinary team bridging the gap between Healthcare Assistants and Registered Nurses to deliver high-quality, person-centred care, as well as supporting the clinical team.
Main duties of the job
As an experienced Nursing Associate, you will deliver holistic nursing care under the supervision of registered professionals. You will be a integral part of our Nurse practitioners, practice nurses and healthcare assistants.

Job responsibilities
- Delivering holistic nursing care under the supervision of registered professionals
- Carrying out clinical tasks including Phlebotomy, Cervical screening, wound care, immunisations and long-term condition reviews.
- Administering flu vaccinations, pneumococcal and child immunisations
- Perform and record clinical observations such as blood pressure, temperature, respirations, and pulse
- To provide routine care to patients as required in accordance with clinical based evidence, NICE and the NSF
- Promote health and well-being to all patients, for example undertaking the NHS health check
- Carrying our cervical screenings and seasonal vaccinations
- Supporting health promotion and education initiatives
- Contributing to the assessment, planning, and evaluation of patient care
- Brings strong clinical judgement and a proactive, person-centred approach
- Communicates clearly and works collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

Qualifications
Essential
- Nursing Associate Qualification
- Registered with the NMC
- Has experience working in a primary care
- Competent in anaphylaxis and BLS
Desirable
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge of QOF and Enhanced services.
- Provide comprehensive travel health advice for patients prior to travel
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working within Primary Care for at least 2 years.
- Experience of chronic disease management
- Wound care/removal of sutures and staples
- Immunisations (routine, childhood and travel)
- Venepuncture
- New patient medicals
- Requesting pathology tests and processing results
- Understanding requirement of PGDs and associated policies
- Womens health (cytology, contraception, etc)
- Experience in infection prevention and control measures
Desirable
- Experience with EMIS clinical system
- Travel Medicine
- Experience managing elderly and housebound patients
- Clear, polite telephone manner
- Competent in the use of Office and Outlook
- Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure
