Job summary
We are looking for at least 2 years experienced
Physician Associate to join our forward-thinking and award winning practice
team based in the heart of Hackney.
Please note we will not consider any application withoutGeneral Practice experience.
Main duties of the job
Under the supervision of a
named Physician Associate Supervisor, the role will require you to participate
in all aspects of patient care through knowledge gained from your PA training
alongside our allied healthcare professional team.
Under supervision of a named Physician
Associate GP Supervisor in the practice, the post holder will provide care for the presenting patient from focused
history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of
care. They will demonstrate safe, clinical decision making and expert care,
including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the service..
They will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to meet the needs of
the patients. You will provide a holistic and clinical service, with support
and supervision of GPs, implementing agreed management plans and following
approved protocols as appropriate.

Providing direct clinical care for patients
including clinical assessments, diagnosis and treatment under the supervision
of a GP;

Provide routine care to patients as required in
accordance with clinical based evidence, NICE and the NSF;
•
Interviewing patients, taking medical
histories, performing physical examinations, analysing, diagnosing and explain
medical problems;
•
Working with the wider practice clinical team
to deliver services to meet the needs of the patients, which may include home
visits;
•
Consulting and referring patients to
physicians, medical specialists and other health professionals as indicated;
•
Recommending and explaining appropriate
diagnostic tests and treatments;
•
Requesting and interpreting results of laboratory
investigations when necessary;
•
Performing specialised diagnostic physical
exams and treatment procedures;
•
Instructing and educating patients in
preventative healthcare;
•
Conducting telephone consultations, which may
involve discussing the result and implications of laboratory investigations
with patients as well as dealing appropriately with routine and emergency
complaints;
•
Fully documenting all aspects of patient care
and completing all required paperwork for legal and administrative purposes;
•
Contribute to the practice quality targets in
order to achieve high standards of safe, evidence-based, cost-effective patient
care and service delivery.
