Job summary

We are looking for a motivated Business Admin Apprentice to join our GP practice. This role is ideal for someone eager to develop their administrative skills while supporting the smooth running of the practice. You will gain hands-on experience working with EMIS Web, handling patient records, managing incoming and outgoing documents, assisting and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective manner

Main duties of the job

Document Management & Administration:

  • Processing incoming clinical correspondence, ensuring documents are received, coded, and filed correctly.
  • Managing outgoing referrals to other healthcare providers, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Liaising with clinicians and administrative staff to ensure patient records are up to date.
  • Maintaining accurate digital and physical filing systems in line with GDPR and confidentiality policies.
  • Being organised, calm, polite and friendly with a positive nature will also be an added benefit to this position.

General Business Administration:

  • Handling queries from healthcare professionals and patients related to document processing.
  • Assisting with general practice administration, including data entry and scanning.
  • Supporting the practice team in maintaining a high standard of patient care and record management.

About us

Whiteacres Medical Centre is located in the beautiful surrounds of the Malvern Hills, we have a patient list size of just over 11,500. The practice team consists of 10 GPs, 5 female and 5 male doctors, we have 6 nurses and 4 experienced Health Care Assistants and a Phlebotomy team. Our Clinical Team are supported by a dedicated Management and Administration Team.

We are a forward-thinking practice, and we are a GP training practice for Health Education England and train Medical Students for Birmingham University.
