Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified GP to join our team at Cantilupe and Hampton Dene Surgeries, a 2 site, 12700 patient surgery in Hereford city. The Additional Roles Scheme (ARRS) is ideal for a GP within 2 years of CCT who has not yet held a substantive post.
This is a fixed term post at present to March 2027 (pending confirmation of scheme ongoing)
Main duties of the job
You will join our large team to offer 2 to 4 sessions per week for routine GP surgery work, to include share of on the day admin including a share of prescriptions, one Home visit per day, possibly an on call day (depending on candidate), plus own admin work.
You will work under the BMA Salaried GP contract. (see person spec for full details)
Starting Salary will be £10000 to £10764 per session.
About us
Cantilupe Surgery is a large 12700 patient practice, covering Hereford City and surrounding area. We have a branch surgery based close by at Hampton Dene Surgery.
We work closely with our colleagues in our PCN Network (Belmont and Wargrave House surgeries) as well as the extended roles staff that brings, to ensure patients have wide range of services on offer.
The practice consists of
- 3 Partners
- 4 Salaried GPs
- Mental Health Practitioner and support worker
- 3 ANPS
- 1 Prescribing Paramedic
- 5 Practices Nurses and 3 HCAs
- Large Admin and reception team, plus Practice Manager
- ARRS staff include - Pharmacy team, Well being and Social Prescribing team. Care home and Safeguarding Admin team.
- First contact physio and 2 attached physios.

- Provide high-quality, evidence-based care for a broad range of medical conditions in a general practice setting.
- Provide support for other GP colleagues by taking a share of admin such as prescriptions, and own admin work (Docman and pathlinks) (time allocated for this)
- One Home Visit per DAY with allocated time.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams across the PCN, including pharmacists, , social prescribers, and physiotherapists.
- Contribute to routine general practice duties including face-to-face consultations, telephone triage, home visits, repeat prescription reviews, and QOF achievement.
- Maintain accurate patient records using EMIS
- Attend regular clinical meetings and participate in audit and CPD activities if appropriate.

- GMC registration with a license to practise.
- Member of the RCGP and on the GP Performers List.
- Qualified as a GP within the last 2 years.
- Commitment to collaborative and patient-centred care.
