Job summary
We are seeking a part time (16 hours per week) pro-active Health Care Assistant to support the delivery of high quality patient care within our GP surgery. You will work closely with the clinical team to provide a range of clinical and administrative services, contributing to the health and wellbeing of our practice population.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:Clinical Duties:* Perform routine health checks (e.g., blood pressure, height, weight, BMI)* Long Term Conditions reviews ( LTCS)* Carry out ECGs
*Home Visits * Administer vaccinations (e.g., flu) and injections (if trained)* Carry out wound care and dressings* Assist with chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, asthma)* Conduct NHS health checks and new patient health checks* Support minor surgery and other clinical procedures* Process specimens and ensure accurate labelling and transportation* Maintain accurate and timely clinical records
*Infection control
Administrative Duties:* Ensure consultation rooms are clean, well-stocked, and prepared for clinics* Support stock control and ordering of medical supplies* Assist with recall systems and patient reminders* Maintain patient confidentiality and follow data protection policie
About us
We are a GP teaching Practice along with teaching students from university. We are high achieving and forward thinking. The team consists of 3 GP Partners, x 1 Salaried GP, x 1 Practice Nurse, x 2 HCAs, Practice Manager and a full complement of practice administrators.
We form part of Citrus PCN we offer extended hours and have a compliment of ARRS staff at the practice Physio, Pharmacists, Social prescribers and care co-ordinators.

Essential
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification)
- Experience working in a healthcare setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Commitment to patient confidentiality and data protection
Desirable
- Previous experience in a General Practice or Primary Care setting/ Care home setting
