Main duties of the job

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified ANPwith experience in general practice or urgent care settings, confident in managing a broad range of clinical presentations independently,to work within our well-established and supportive general practice team. Youll play a vital role in offering expert clinical care, managing both acute and chronic conditions, and driving preventative health strategies and well-being programmes. This is an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about leadership in primary care and keen to make a real difference in community health.

We will expect you to work Monday to Friday, with one on-call day per week.On-call duties will include consulting with patients, reviewing and actioning laboratory results, signing prescriptions and prescribing medications as an Independent Nurse Prescriber, as well as supporting urgent clinical queries.

During the week youll have a mixture of face-to-face and telephone consultations, and autonomy to manage minor illnesses, acute presentations, and long-term conditions within your scope of practice. You will be expected to independently assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with a variety of conditions, including undifferentiated problems, and to refer patients appropriately to other healthcare professionals or services.

The role will be supported by our clinical team, with regular team meetings, CPD opportunities and access to further training to help you develop your career and skills.

The Advanced Nurse Practitioner(ANP) will be competent in using their expert clinical knowledge and skills. They will have the freedom and authority to act and make autonomous decisions in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients.

The ANP will work with their patients to achieve optimum health outcomes. They will be autonomous in making decisions based on assessment, diagnosis and interpretation of test results.
