Job summary
Wandsworth PCN is looking to recruit a dedicated,enthusiastic, very well organised and self-motivated General Practice Assistant to work alongside the Operations Manager to support with general day to day administrative tasks and the delivery of specific services and projects for Wandsworth PCN, focusing on the delivery of the Network Contract DES, developing processes and systems and delivering better health outcomes for our 45,000+ patient population.
The successful candidate will also support the Clinical Director and our growing multi-disciplinary clinical team with the smooth running of PCN clinics and the delivery of the highest quality primary care services to our patients by handling administrative queries and performing routine administration and basic clinical tasks across our 6 member GP practices in the Battersea/Wandsworth area: Chatfield Health Care, The Begg Practice, Falcon Road Medical Centre, Bolingbroke Medical Centre, The Junction Health Centre and Clapham Junction Medical Practice.
This role is a fantastic opportunity for an existing administrator or HCA to take on additional duties and responsibilities. This post is suitable for an excellent team player with administrative experience and good customer/patient care skills with previous knowledge and experience of working in a primary care environment.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will:
- Work closely with the Operations Manager, supporting in all administrative tasks related to the operational management and running of Wandsworth PCN.
- Support the organisation and running of specific PCN clinics
- Support the development of processes and systems across the PCN, including the improvement of communication to and from all member GP practices' clinical and administrative/management teams
- Support the delivery of new and existing projects and services
- Support the collation, interpretation and reporting of clinical/patient data and outcomes, including information supportive of governance systems and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Liaising with patients and internal/external providers of patient services.

includes advanced practitioners, paramedics, physician associates, and pharmacists as well social prescribers, an assistant psychologist and a first contact physiotherapist. We aim to ensure our patients are seen in
the right place, at the right time, by the right healthcare professional.
Wandsworth PCN holds patient care at the centre of all the activity
provided by its 6 member practices. We use EMIS Web clinical systems and have
embraced the advancements of IT to enhance service provision for our patients.
Wandsworth PCN is part of the Wandsworth GP federation, who offer
support, education and training for all our staff. The appointed general practice assistant will have the opportunity to participate in personal and professional
development opportunities within Wandsworth and across South West London. With
funding from Health Education England supported through the South West London Training Hub.
