We have a Full-Time vacancy for an experienced Practice Nurse to join
our friendly team to uptake all aspects of Practice Nursing.
The ideal candidate will help to lead and
develop high quality patient care to meet the holistic health care needs of a
practice population and work within NMC Code of Conduct and to agreed practice
standards and protocols.
Working independently using own initiative
and is accountable for own professional actions. Provides support and
leadership for other members of the Nursing Team and lead towards the
co-ordination of team activities.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role will be Chronic Disease Management, Cytology, Childhood Immunisations, Wound Management, NHS Health Checks, Immunisations & Vaccinations, Venepuncture etc.
Administering adult and child immunisations and vaccinations in accordance with national and local programmes. Is competent in anaphylaxis and resuscitation techniques. Ensures safe storage, rotation and disposal of vaccines and drugs and adequate stock levels are maintained.
Undertake procedures to include, venepuncture, glucose tolerance tests, BP management, urinalysis, peak flow, spirometry, new patient health checks, pregnancy testing, stitch/clip removal, ear syringing and cytology, wound management, cryosurgery.
Works within all relevant practice and ICB policies and procedural guidelines e.g., infection control, chaperoning and patient group directions.
Care and programme management
Diabetes, CHD, asthma and COPD management, assist in running of disease management clinics and provides specialist nursing care for the patients or communities that the practice serves.
Womens health including providing and evaluating care under agreed local/national guidelines, protocols and patient group directions.

We are a supportive, enthusiastic practice, committed to delivering high quality patient service. Located over 2 sites, our patient population is approximately 8640. We are a GMS Practice, and currently have four GP Partners and 3 salaried GPs.
We have a dedicated and supportive Primary Health Care Team, including administration staff. We currently employ 1 ANP, 1 Proactive Care Nurse, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Treatment Room Nurse, and 2 Healthcare Assistants.
We are building on our Nursing team, and we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic nurse who in addition to their clinical role would provide support for other nurses and HCAs and help to develop a progressive flexible primary care nursing service.
