Main duties of the job
As a Salaried GP at Bridge Street Surgery, you will work as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, patient-centred primary care services.
About us
Bridge Street Surgery is a well-established, forward-thinking GP practice located in the centre of Downham Market, Norfolk, with ample free parking and excellent transport links.
We provide high quality, patient centred care to a registered population of approximately 8,500 patients and are proud to be a teaching and research practice led by a stable and supportive partnership of five experienced GP partners.
We are a dispensing practice, providing prescription services to our rural village patients, and are part of a proactive and well-functioning Primary Care Network (PCN). Through the PCN, we benefit from a wide range of ARRS roles, including clinical pharmacists and a mental health practitioner.
Our multidisciplinary team includes two paramedics who lead our home visits and care home ward rounds, as well as highly skilled nursing, pharmacy and administrative teams. We also provide GP registrar training and Year 6 medical student placements.

Provide high quality, safe and effective primary medical care to registered patients
Undertake routine, urgent and same-day consultations
Assess, diagnose, treat and manage patients with acute and chronic conditions
Provide ongoing care and support for patients with long-term conditions
Undertake home visits and care home reviews as required (supported by paramedic team)
Prescribe safely and appropriately in accordance with national and local guidelines
Maintain accurate medical records
Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement and clinical governance activities

Essential
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise and inclusion on the GP Register (CCT, MRCGP or equivalent).
- Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List (or eligible for inclusion), with no conditions or restrictions that would preclude independent practice.
