Job responsibilities

We would be interested to hear from a GP at any stage of their career, including recently or newly qualified GPs. We are offering a supportive package with mentoring to help someone starting off in practice or returning to practice after a break. We are looking to cover 4 sessions a week,and will run for approx. 4-6 months. Days; Tues AM, Thurs PM and all day Fri, these days are non-negotiable.

Supporting the whole practice team is very important to us and we have a daily morning huddle, weekly clinical meetings and lunch together every day. We are busy but have put in place lots of techniques to take the pressure off the doctors while providing excellent patient centred care.

Sessions have 13 patients maximum and you will work approximately one duty session per week. The duty sessions are also protected.

We have an expanding multidisciplinary team including a pharmacy team and a nurse practitioner. We also have Primary Care Network ARRS staff attached to the practice including a social prescriber, mental health workers and a physiotherapist. With the help of the whole team, we are striving to become the greenest practice in Brighton.

Qualifications

Essential

• Qualified GP
• MRCGP
• Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
• General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
• Full GMC Registration
• National Performers List registration
• Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU)
• Eligibility to practice in the UK independently

Experience

Essential

• Experience of working in a primary care environment
• Experience of continued professional development
• Experience of QOF and clinical audit
• Minimum of two years as a salaried GP
• Outstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of an experienced GP
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
• Strong IT skills
• Clear, polite telephone manner
• Competent in the use of Office and Outlook
• Effective time management (Planning & Organising)
• Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Problem solving & analytical skills
• Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure
• Experience with audit and able to lead audit programmes
• Experience with clinical risk management

Desirable

• Experience with SystmOne clinical system is desirable but not essential
