We are a dynamic, friendly, 8400 patient training practice in Portslade and are looking for a salaried GP to join our team of 5 partners and 4 salaried doctors. We would be interested to hear from a GP at any stage of their career, including recently or newly qualified GPs.

We are offering a supportive package with mentoring to help someone starting off in practice or returning to practice after a break.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for cover 4 sessions a week, and there is potential for future partnership and for pursuing any special interests.

Sessions have 15 patients maximum and you will work approximately one duty session per week. The duty sessions are also protected.

Supporting the whole practice team is very important to us and we have a daily morning huddle, weekly clinical meetings and lunch together every day. We are busy but have put in place lots of techniques to take the pressure off the doctors while providing excellent patient centred care.

Job responsibilities

Qualifications

Essential

  • Qualified GP
  • MRCGP
  • Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
  • General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT)
  • Full GMC Registration
  • National Performers List registration
  • Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU)
  • Eligibility to practice in the UK independently

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a primary care environment
  • Experience of continued professional development
  • Experience of QOF and clinical audit
  • Minimum of two years as a salaried GP
  • Outstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills commensurate with that of an experienced GP
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strong IT skills
  • Clear, polite telephone manner
  • Competent in the use of Office and Outlook
  • Effective time management (Planning & Organising)
  • Ability to work as a team member and autonomously
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Problem solving & analytical skills
  • Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure
  • Experience with audit and able to lead audit programmes
  • Experience with clinical risk management
