Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly Practice Nurse to join our team for a 6 month period to work along side our existing GPN's and Healthcare assistant, as well as the extended multidisciplinary team.
The role is to cover a combination of Study Leave and an increase in surgery Population size, which has resulted in growing demand for appointments.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a Practice Nurse to work for approx 9 hours a week. This can be split over 2 days, or a single day, but would need to be a Thursday/Friday due to room availability.
The successful candidate needs to be able to undertake all Treatment Room activities, including wound care, cervical cytology, and Adult and Childhood immunisations. Additional skills of benefit are NHS Health checks, ear irrigation, dopplers and travel assessment, though these are not essential
About us
We are a busy, diverse teaching practice of 15000 patients with good links to London & Hertfordshire. We operate a total triage system, and offer a full complement of General Practice Services.
We currently have a Lead Nurse/ANP, 2 General Practice Nurses, an HCA, and a housekeeper in the Nursing team, and we work alongside our GP Partners, Salaried GP's and Locums, as well as MSK specialists, and Mental health Nurses clinically, as well as a full compliment of administrative support by care co-ordinators, Secretaries, Prescription teams, Pre Reg pharmacists, and managers.
We are served by good local facilities, including Parks, eateries and a shopping park which are all in walking distance, alongside a mainline station & local buses.
We consistently receive 4 & 5 star reviews from our Patient groups, have an active PPG group, and are a registered active practice, as well as an accredited Veteran friendly practice, and are in the process of gaining our Purple star award for our work with Learning disabilities.
We also hold regular in house teaching sessions for our staff from Clinical Experts & Consultants which all staff a re encouraged to attend
