We are looking to recruit a motivated and committed Practice Nurse to join our supportive, enthusiastic and friendly team at Eden Court Medical Practice.
Experience in the role of Practice Nurse is essential for this post.
The hours of the post are negotiable for the right candidate with both full and part time hours considered. Salary is comparable to Band 6.
We will offer a competitive salary with excellent terms and conditions which will be discussed at interview. NHS Pension available.
Main duties of the job
Duties to include but not exhaustive:
Management of long term conditions
Cervical cytology
Childhood, adult and travel vaccinations
Phlebotomy
Wound care, including suture removal and dressings
Assisting minor surgery and sexual health clinic
Stock ordering and control

Must be able to relay clinical information and maintain accurate, comprehensive consultation records
Must have PC skills, ideally be able to use basic word, excel and email. We use SystmOne clinical system.

We are a well established training Practice in Castle Vale, Birmingham with four GP Partners, three salaried doctors and junior doctors in training delivering high quality care to 10,600 patients. Our nursing team includes one part time Practice Nurse, one nursing associate and two health care assistants.
We have a wide team of ARRs including Paramedic, Clinical Pharmacist, PA, MSK specialist and Care Co-ordinator.

Job summary:
The practice nurse will work as part of the
primary healthcare team providing medical services to the patients of practice.
Job responsibilities:
- Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as
directed by senior nursing staff and GPs
- Cytology
- Wound care
- Removal of Sutures
- New Patient Medicals/Urinalysis
- Travel Clinic
- ECGs
- Asthma/Peak Flow Readings/Spirometry
- Venepuncture
- Long Term Condition Management
- Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations
- Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being
examined by another clinician
- Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings
- Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
- Willingness to undertake Family Planning diploma desirable but not

- Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to other nurses
or GPs as appropriate
