Job summary

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a motivated practice nurse to join our team here at Stretton Medical Centre.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic team player who can demonstrate high standards of clinical excellence.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will need to be fully competent in primary care nursing duties, carrying out Long Term condition reviews (Asthma, Hypertension, COPD, Diabetes etc.), smears, baby imm vaccinations, taking blood samples, travel vaccines.

About us

We are an expanding GP practice based in Stretton, Warrington.

We have 2 branches to work from, one based in Appleton, Warrington and one based in Stretton , Warrington.

Our team consists of :

Reception team, administrators, practice nurses, GPs and a practice manager.

We also have ARRS roles that work within the GP surgery:

First contact physios, MH Nurses and clinical pharmacy team.

We are a friendly, hard working and supportive team.

Job responsibilities

The successful candidate will need to be fully competent in primary care nursing duties, carrying out Long Term condition reviews (Asthma, Hypertension, COPD, Diabetes etc.), smears, baby imm vaccinations, taking blood samples, travel vaccines. The post holder frequently will work unsupervised and is accountable for their practice. This will require critical thinking and skills in decision making in the management of patients.

As an experienced nurse you will be a role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the organisation. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.

Essential

  • Registered General Nurse or Registered Nurse.
  • Previous experience within practice nursing and up to date evidence of cytology, imms etc.

Desirable

  • GPN preceptorship qualification.
