Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job

The following are the core responsibilities of theGPA. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels. You will work within your capabilities and the role will be developed as this is a new role in the practice. The duties may include:

  • Completing basic (non-opinion) forms and core elements of some forms for theGPto approve and sign such as insurance forms, mortgage, benefits agency forms etc

  • Arranging appointments, tests and follow up appointments for patients
  • After the provision of appropriate training if required, completing simple clinical observations/investigations as directed, such as dipstick urine, taking blood pressure, ECGs, phlebotomy etc (HCA role)

  • Supporting with QOF reviews

  • Carrying out audits of processes and practice at the surgery.

About us

We are a very friendly small General Practice in Beeston with just over 5000 patients, with 1 GP Principal and 3 salaried GP's. Our wider team consists of an ANP, 2 Practice Nurses, a Nurse Associate, community pharmacist and a full admin team.
